About
Some more details...
Whilst each therapy is unique, here are some more details about how we might work together:

Building Meaning Through Dialogue
We work together in a collaborative, open conversation to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. This allows us to create new insights and meaning around your life story, with the goal of helping you navigate challenges more effectively.
-
Your feelings and experiences are valid and important.
-
I listen closely and reflect back these feelings and experiences, encouraging deeper exploration of your thoughts and emotions.
-
We explore how your present experiences connect to your past, working together to create meaning and understanding, whilst allowing stuck patterns of action and re-action to be re-considered.

Focusing on the Present Moment
We use techniques designed to help you become more aware of what's happening right now—both in your body and mind. This awareness helps you stay grounded and connected to your feelings in the present moment, and supports a more integrated sense of body and mind.
-
We work to bring awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in the here and now.
-
We look at how you may compartmentalize or "split" parts of your emotional and embodied experience and work toward integrating those pieces for a greater sense of wholeness.

Healing Through Processing Trauma
Drawing from trauma-informed practices, we work together to understand and address the protective parts of you that developed in response to past trauma, and how they might impact you today.
The goal is to build a compassionate relationship with these parts and help you feel more stable and empowered in the face of trauma.
I prioritize your safety and use grounding techniques to support you as you process past trauma in a way that feels manageable and supportive. Processing trauma deserves respect and is slow and careful work.

Exploring Relational Patterns and Unconscious Dynamics
We explore how past relationships—especially with primary caregivers—affect your current relationships and emotional life. Understanding these patterns helps you experience life as it is now rather than as it was then.
-
We examine how your past relationships might shape your feelings and behaviours in the present.
-
Together, we explore when and how you may project your inner world onto others, helping you gain greater self-awareness and clarity about your relational patterns.

Using the Body to Unlock Emotions
Sometimes, emotions and memories are held in the body, and it can be helpful to explore and release them physically.
By tuning into your body, we can make deeper connections with your emotional life and release old tension, which can have a debilitating impact on your day to day life.

Exploring Identity and Social Context
We examine how social identity factors—such as race, gender, and cultural background—shape your experiences and mental health. Together, we address how societal influences may have impacted your sense of self whilst you explore how to navigate external structures.

Creating a Safe, Ethical Space
Our relationship must be built on trust, transparency, and respect. I make sure to maintain clear boundaries while also being flexible and adaptable to your needs, ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout our work together.

Building Self-Worth and Healthy Limits
We focus on strengthening your sense of self-worth and helping you set limits that support your emotional well-being.
Each of these approaches is designed to support your journey of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
By integrating mind, body, emotions, and relationships, we work together to help you reconnect with yourself, heal past wounds, and create healthier patterns for the future.
